PSO receives an encore

The recent cash crunch at Performance Space Orlando [Theater space takes extreme measures, July 6] has been resolved. Though owner Winnie Wenglewick fell short of her deadline this month to sell all 300 of the $10 "Angel Tickets" that she hoped would ensure the Mills Avenue black-box theater's solvency, the 240 tickets she did move netted enough funds to "keep the wolves at bay," she reports.

More important, she has added two business partners who will step forward starting in September. Adam Williams' Stage Left Productions -- whose interpretation of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons" will grace the stage of the Central Florida Theatre Alliance's Theatre Garage in August -- will share the PSO schedule with Steve Gardiner's Torch Productions, an outfit that likely will use the theater as a site for late-night film shoots, says Wenglewick. (In addition to his endeavors as an actor and director, Gardiner is also a professional fire eater, but don't tell Wenglewick's landlord.)

"Angel Tickets," which admit buyers to an opening night or Sunday-matinee performance of any PSO production between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31, will continue to be sold until the end of summer. To buy one, visit PSO prior to showtimes at 1707-A N. Mills Ave., order by mail to the same address or call 407-625-3653.
