Orlando Weekly's Restaurant Week is popping up on sites popular among travelers, About.com & Suit101.com.  I'll save you the press release and let you read the articles, as we probably couldn't put it better ourselves! I'll just clarify that Restaurant Week officially runs April 29-May 5, 2010 (as opposed to May 6 as stated below). The official website is www.orlandorestaurantweek.com.

Prix Fixe Menu Specials

Orlando Restaurant Week gives you the opportunity to try out a few different restaurants at reasonable prices.  The Prix Fixe menus are offered for either $10, $15, $25 or $35 and generally include a choice of starters, main entrees and desserts. 

The four price points are for different menus - some lunch and some dinner. You have the opportunity to try out a restaurant for different priced menu offerings. For example Tastings, A Wine Experience is offering a prix fixe lunch menu for $10 that includes a starter, main entree and a choice of sides. For dinner the price increases to $15 and includes a starter, main entree and dessert.

If you are like me and generally don€™t include an appetizer and dessert with your entrée, the price of $25 or $35 might seem a little high. Though it will be interesting to see what is included on the menus for Ruth's Chris Steak House and The Capital Grille at $35. One of my favorites from the list in the $25 range would be Shula's 347 in Lake Mary and K Restaurant at a new location in College Park.

This year's Orlando Restaurant Week will run from April 29 - May 6, 2010. Check on-line for the participating restaurants and preview the menus that they are offering.

For those traveling to Orlando, Florida, during the end of April 2010, here's what one needs to know to enjoy the city's annual restaurant week

Restaurant Week in any city is always a great way to sample some great eateries at a discount. They're usually set up for locals to get out and try new places they may not have eaten at. But why should the locals get all the benefits, when it's also a great way for visitors to a city to enjoy a fine dining experience for a fraction of the price?

For those traveling to Orlando, Florida at the end of this month, here is all the information needed to partake of the great dining deals of this special promotion.

Orlando Restaurant Week Basics for 2010

Sponsored by Orlando€™s alternative weekly newspaper, the Orlando Weekly, this year's edition is slated to run April 29 through May 5.

Deals are divided by price point, running at $10, $15, $25 and $35. This means for that price the customer gets a multi-course pre-set menu to choose their meal from. A typical menu will include an appetizer, an entrée and a dessert. It depends on the restaurant, which chooses its own offerings. It may include a non-alcoholic beverage, as well, but not always.

Additionally, participating restaurants may offer one price point menu for lunch and another for dinner. If so, lunch will always be the less expensive of the two.
